2021 ZSABL Annual League Meeting And Free Agent Draft

Call To Order: Commissioner Phil Zangari called the meeting to order at 1:58 PM

Roll Call: All members are present. Nile Lane, Seattle Scouts owner and GM, announced that the Seattle franchise will now be known as the Queen City Rojos.

Reading and Approval of 2020 League Meeting Minutes: The 2020 minutes were accepted as read.

Treasurer’s Report: Presented by League Treasurer Thomas D. Doran

Annual Awards:

Scott L. Fisher BRIB Award: Billy Groff Norfolk Neptunes

Championship Trophy: Sam Schall Rochester Rockers

Old Business: None

New Business:

Commissioner Zangari issued and Executive Order to eliminate all rainouts.

A discussion was held to determine whether the ZSABL should follow the changes made by MLB; for instance, starting extra-inning games with a runner on second and requiring relief pitcher to face a minimum of three batters when entering a game. It was decided not to adjust our playing rules to coincide with the MLB.

Commissioner Zangari issued an executive order to increase ZSABL active rosters from 26 players to 28 players for the 2021 Championship Season.

A motion was made and seconded to reduce regular season roster moves from five to four for the 2021 campaign. The motion was defeated.

Amotion was made and seconded to begin the 2021 Free Agent Draft. Motion passed unanimously.
