A LOOK AT THE ROSTER
This is a strong roster however with that being said there are some players I would have parted ways with.
I don't think Week's is a good fit in the clubhouse or on the field (6)
and Bourjos and Alcides don't bring much to the table. I think a
couple of flier picks on carded outfielders would have been worth the gamble, say a Junior Lake or Ozuna. But the main
issue with this roster is none of their starters has control and the bullpen is light on innings. Will the pitching hold up?
Certainly a team looking to take the next step and with most of the tools to do it.

THE DRAFT
If there is one thing Brookyln does well it is draft. With the Captain Derek Jeter being unceremoniously
released the need for depth and the future was at SS
and they got it in Brad Miller the 9th pick of the draft. Buxton and Bryant were the two top UC players
coming into the draft and Brooklyn didn't hesitate with pick number two. Bryant may move to the OF and that would help with the
sub par OF that the Mets now field. Russell in the third was a nice pick, Drew and Miller will handle SS for now
while Russell gets a little more seasoning in the minors.
Rondon was a cute pick but that was about it. A couple of AZ relievers thrown in never hurts.
In the 7th round they picked Jon Schoop who was rated fairly high in most prospect publications,
but I don't see his minor league numbers supporting that high of a grade.
Still for a 7th round pick and just 22 years old who knows? Meadows was
next then Johnson. I had Johnson with a good rating and to go so late in the draft was a surprise.
His final pick Villar in the 10th was their 3rd SS selected in the draft.
Jeter was so highly regarded in Brooklyn that it now takes 4 SS on the roster to replace him.
An excellent draft with a PIP of 3.20

A LOOK AT THE ROSTER
This roster has some serious pitching lacking in only "Z" relief. They have a solid defense. Offense is the achilles heel
here. McCutchen will need a career year plus some. So you got to hope and pray the dice are with you.
Forsythe and Laird should be looking for employment somewhere else. And I would fill those roster spots for carded players
like Junior Lake, Ozuno or UC offensive players. Still with the pitching they have a playoff spot is in the cards.
THE DRAFT
The Bulldogs had 2 picks in the 3rd round, with their first pick they went for the A reliever Watson. You could make a
case to roll the dice for Z relief later and take Byrd and Lind 2 players that have the at bats and OPS numbers to make
a difference. But they bypassed them both when they went with uncarded starting pitcher Gray with their second pick
of the round. That left the Bulldog fans scratching their heads. In the 5th they took A reliever Carpenter. In the 6th
they had 2 picks and chose A reliever Thonburg and hatchet card Danny Valencia with 161 at bats. The 7th saw 2 more picks
an A reliever in La Rosa and 1B Josh Satin. Marisnick and Heany in the next two rounds are winners and Pena fills
a utility role but with only 97 at bats. Clint Frazier came next in the 10th round a highly regarded prospect but a few years
away from the big show. Gerald Laird? I have no idea but Ibanez in the 12th should certainly help. Brothers and Morton
finish up the draft. A very good draft for only having your first pick come in the 3rd round with a PIP of 2.97.

A LOOK AT THE ROSTER
Not as strong as last year's team but solid none the less. The starting pitching is capable enough to make it to
the late innings where a strong bullpen can take over and close out the game. Tulowitzki, Votto, Choo and
Longoria are in the top tier for their positions. Ike Davis and Casey Kelly are taking up space on this roster where
a couple of UC players would have fit in nicely for their two roster spots. The Machine and that's exactly what they are,
have all the pieces to  make yet another run for a championship but Broooklyn may have something to say about that.
THE DRAFT
The Machine picked SS Chris Owings with their first pick of the draft which came in the 3rd round. A starting
SS that fits in nicely for this team. Next came Corey Dickerson in the 4th if he can live up to his minor league numbers
which sports a four year average OPS of 980 it's a steal.  In the 5th round they had 2 picks and started it off with AC
reliever Scheppers followed by starter Henderson Alvarez who helps keeps the Machine with a four man rotation
of all B pitching. In the 8th they took A-C*Z reliever Lopez and in the 9th heavily coveted Dodger Joc Pederson. They
needed a utility player to fill in for Tulo and Walker and they chose Jon Herrera a former Machine player. They
ended their draft with AZ reliever Coleman. I have to say each one of these picks are spot on for this ball club both
for the present and the future. A very strong PIP at 3.25.

A LOOK AT THE ROSTER
The starting pitching is strong enough along with a more than a capable bullpen to make the Black Sox's
competitive. They picked up some offense in the draft that will help the club but limited at
bats will hurt. I would have parted ways with Sabathia, Beckett and Ludwick and use those spots for a young UC
catcher or even Tony Sanchez of the Pirate's. SS is also a position that needed attention but was not addressed.
Hopefully Howard and Teixeria can come back to add some much needed offense next year. Do they have
enough offense to secure a playoff spot this year? We shall see.
THE DRAFT
The Sox's start off with Sonny Gray in the first round. I had Cashner and Tanaka rated higher, Gray's minor
league numbers are not impressive. But the Oakland A's know something about young pitchers and if they
have Gray as a number 1 starter who am I to argue. Reliever Kintzler AZ was picked in the second round.
The Sox's did not have a 3rd round pick but with two in the 4th they went for offense in outfielders Mike Carp
an Craig Gentry. In the 5th round they picked Loney adding more offense to a club in desperate need of it.
Scotter Gannett came next in the 6th round a nice pick. Three A relievers were picked in the next 3 rounds you
can never have enough of them for a long grueling season, just ask Woody. In the 10th they choose the Cuban LA Dodger
Alex Guerrero worth a flier in my book.  A BZ reliever was next followed by Mark Buerhle with 203 innings
of CZ pitching in the 12th round, I love it. As with Gee in Union Station these kind of pitchers can be used in
long relief to keep you in the ballgame. In the 13th round they took UC Cincinnati pitcher Stephensen. In the 14th
round yes the 14th, they picked Junior Lake I was surprised he was still available. A strong draft  with a PIP of 3.14.

A LOOK AT THE ROSTER
Let's start with starting pitching no pun intended. The starting pitching is solid but the amount of innings in relief pitching is of
grave concern. The starters with limited Z grades are going to have to go deep into games, that combined with
limited relief pitching does not bode well for the Rockers. On offense the numbers expected by Pujlos and Hamilton just
aren't there, it happens. Young, Tejada,Ellis,Pacheco and Janish bring little to the table and need to look for
work somewhere else. The Rockers manager who won co-manger of the year this past season has a lot of work ahead of him
and will be hard pressed to repeat that performance.
THE DRAFT
Patrick Corbin in the first round certainly strengthens the starting pitching. In the third they took Chen a BZ reliever with 121
innings. In the 4th they picked AZ reliever Thielbar followed by A reliever Jim Henderson in the 7th. In the 9th they took BZ
starter Carlos Torres who can be serviceable with 86 innings. I know there isn't a whole lot left in the late rounds
but Tejada and Janish really have no value. With Corbin being lost for next year I think there were carded and
UC pitchers that could have been drafted to help fill that loss. Mejia was sandwiched in between those picks. It's tough when
you have to build a bullpen and have only 4 picks in the first 8 rounds, it doesn't leave much on the bone for anything else.
And the PIP of 2.50 attests to that fact.

Management's decision to keep Kratz, Snider and C reliever Belisario is not going over well in Maui land.
There were players drafted in rounds 9-11 that would have complimented this team well. Not to mention
some highly regarded UC players who should see action in 2014. Taking up 3 roster spots with the above
mentioned players will make it harder to fill the seats in Maine.
THE DRAFT
They started out with two building blocks in Wacha and Adams that I really like. Wood had a solid year
but is he a first round pick for a team still building a foundation ? I personally would have liked to have seen
a young offensive threat with this pick. LeMahieu in the 3rd while he maybe a solid major league ballplayer I don't think
his numbers will translate to strong APBA cards as his .673 OPS in 2013 will attest to. But then again you can always
use a two bagger graded number one with the glove. The next 3 picks I agree with to strengthen the bullpen and
remain competitive. Gomez in the 8th was overkill with eight relievers already in the pen. I think this pick could have
been put to better use. Overall a solid draft for the Maui's with a PIP of 3.00.

The pitching staff is strong and could be even stronger next year. Offense is where improvement is needed and
the ball players are here to do just that if, they can live up to their expectations. Smoak or Alonso are at a point
in their career when they need to step up for this ball club. This is a young team with a great potential but will
the youngsters make the impact needed for this club to take that next step. Not this season but the
future looks bright. They will need to trade for a catcher and Willingham is just taking up space on this roster.
THE DRAFT
Crazy Horse is building one nice ball club and the addition of Cashner and Smyly can only help. Cashner
was highly rated by the experts with Mr. Zangari calling both players superb selections. You won't get any
argument here. But let's not stop there Archie Bradley came next with a pedigree all his own and this all in
the first round, outstanding! In the second they took Ventura a bit of a stumble in my opinion but it is
what it is. They didn't pick next until the 6th round where they took Nick Franklin. If he gets the opportunity to play
second base in the majors there is a good upside here. In the seventh round they took Tyson Ross, at first glance
it doesn't look like much but 125 innings of B relief never hurts. A highly rated second base prospect comes in
the 8th round in the name of Rougned Odor can't pronounce his first name but then again I'm sure not sure I'm
saying his last name correctly either. Obviously second base is a concern for Vegas as they next selected Dee Dee
Gordon he and Franklin are former Sound prospects which means absolutely nothing. I know it's the 10th round but
Josh Willingham really? Kubler also selected in the 10th was worth a flier. In the 11th it was Reed a B reliever but one that
may have a higher ceiling. Dyson in the 12th had a very intriguing APBA card so what the hell. And perhaps
their long term answer at catcher, uncarded player Alforo, ended the day for Vegas. A PIP of 3.21 suggests a very strong draft
for Vegas.

The starting pitching is very strong and they drafted the bullpen they coveted. Memphis offense matches up
well with the other contenders in the division. With Captain Cano, Freeman and Puig leading the way. The
Sound has a legitimate shot at their first Division Championship
THE DRAFT
The Sounds top priority was building a stronger bullpen and they did that in the second round with their first two
picks of the draft in AZ reliever Anthony Swarzak with 96 innings and ACZ Melancon with 71 innings. They had two
selections in the third round and chose the highly rated Cuban 1st baseman Jose Abreu followed by UC 3rd baseman
Maikel Franco. In the 4th they picked UC second basemen Tommy La Stella a Kipnis clone in the eyes of the Sound
management without the speed. In the 5th they picked outfielder Oswaldo Arcia with the jury still out on this once promising
young ballplayer. In the 7th they took BZ reliever Mazzaro who they had zeroed in on and where a bit miffed when
the Neptune management asked about his availability. And when told he was still available bypassed him anyhow.
Next came AJ Pollack in the eighth followed by UT player Semien in the 9th. Starting pitcher Odorizzi was still
available in the 10th and the Sound jumped on him. They took a flier on their next two picks who could surprise in
in starter Gibson and OF Ozuna. Overall a nice draft for the Sound with a PIP of 3.13

Pennsy has put together a very strong ball club if not the strongest team in the Western Division. Limited at bats
could be their Achilles heel. Zobrist although not slated as a starter will play a very important role for the club.
The OF is short on defense. Sooner or later they will need to become younger as they field the second oldest team
in the league. Managing the at bats will be paramount but this team has all the makings of a championship ball club.
THE DRAFT
The Piranha's had 3 pick's in the second round and used their first pick for the AZ reliever with second most innings in
the draft Tommy Hunter. Next they went for offense which they needed and added Kris Davis and Ryan Rayburn.
Both players have limited at bats but with their OPS numbers over 900 were hard to ignore. Davis is by far the nicer
pick of the two. In the 3rd they took catcher Dioner Navarro a nice pick that certainly improves their strength at
that position. Looking for a young SS for the future they picked 24 yr old DiDi Gregorous. Next came B starter
Chatwood followed by A reliever Ottavino. Looking to get younger at second base they picked Sogard not rated
very high by most scouting reports. Van Slyke in the 7th was nice.  Hey anytime you can get an A starter in the
9th round even with only 30 innings it's worth a flier welcome to the ball club Mr. Compton. In the 10th they took
A reliever Frasor and that's where they should have stopped as Valaika in the 11th is a waste of one's breath.

A good starting staff, a strong bullpen and more than enough of an offense will keep the Neptune's in the hunt.
This roster is one of the strongest in the league not only built for today but for years to come. Norfolk is not
afraid to reinvent itself. Solano and Mercer don't measure up to the rest of the players on this ball club. While
not one of the Neptune's stronger teams they may not win their 5th division championship in a
row but that's to be seen. Certainly the potential is there to make the playoffs.
THE DRAFT
After trading away Yadier Molina a favorite in Norfolk and Joe Mauer moving to 1B, catching was a priority for the
Neptune's. They got the player they coveted with the 10th pick in  Yan Gomes. They were surprised when highly touted UC
OF Buxton was still available and snatched him with the 13th pick of the draft. This team very rarely drafts just for
the upcoming season alone as there 2nd pick will attest to. In the second round they picked outfielder Avisail Garcia who
I had rated as the top carded outfielder in the draft although Kris Davis may have something to say about that. In the 3rd
they selected SS Mercer a bit high for the 3rd round but there wasn't much at the coveted position and with Reyes short at bats
a move the Neptune's were forced to make. In the fourth they took Lind who  with an 854 OPS who will serve well at DH.
They traded for a fourth round selection and picked catcher Josmil Pinto who I was surprised to see still be available.  In the 6th
they took Blackmon who could be a dark horse who just may deliver the goods. Their next two picks went for relief
help and they finished their draft  in round number nine with highly touted pitcher Mark Appel.  Another strong
draft for the Neptune's as their 3.65 PIP is the highest in the draft.

Three BZ starters, add a solid bullpen and a strong offense and you have all the potential of a playoff bound ball club.
Centered around the mammoth season Chris Davis had and a supporting cast of Moss, Byrd and Gomez
should have the Sixer's putting some serious runs on the board. Kottaras and Joyce take up space on the roster a UC
OF and Pittsburgh's Tony Sanchez would have been nice.
THE DRAFT
In the 1st they took Nava followed by Byrd in the second both will start and increased their total OPS to 832.
Two AZ relievers were taken in the 3rd and 4th a good move as most San Diego starters go no further than 6 innings
a game. In the 5th they took James Paxton an excellent pick. Three picks in the 6th brought AB reliever Cotts, UT player
Baker short in at bats but an OPS of 905 and Carlos Martinez. Martinez is a gem and will be much more valuable if the Cards
make him a starter. Cody Ache came in the 7th and Syndergaard in the 8th both nice picks. Rollins in the 9th will be
irrelevant for the club and their only stumble of the draft. Arruebarruena the young Cuban SS in the Dodger's
organization is their future starting SS. An excellent draft by the Sixer's with a PIP of 3.33

A LOOK AT THE ROSTER
This is a solid roster for the most part. Starting pitching is a strength but the relief pitching maybe short on innings.
Pastornicky,Uggla and Francisco are taking up spots on the roster that could be used for younger players. This past
off season may have been the year to move one of their catchers and I think McCann was that catcher. McCann could
have given them a nice draft pick, young outfielder or third basemen. With 8 position players in their mid 30's on the roster
getting younger will need to be a priority going forward. The Hurricanes will be competitive but the strong Western
Division will make it hard to reach the playoffs.
THE DRAFT
Harford's first pick 2B Brian Dozer came in the 2nd round and filled one of the two positions they had targeted coming
in to this draft. They followed that up in the 3rd filling their other targeted position with outfielder Kole Calhoun.
Dozier will not start for the Canes this year so I feel the 2nd round was early for a 27 year old who just had what
may have been his career year. Polanco and Garcia I had rated much higher than Calhoun and worthy of a 2nd round pick.
The Cane's conservative approach with UC players, most come from the Braves farm system causes them to skip over Garcia
my preferred pick. Jean Machi in the 4th becomes the Hurricane's closer. I like their next 2 picks that came in the 5th
round Wood and Davidson both young with nice potential. Cody Allen an A reliever in the 6th helps fill out the bullpen.
In the 7th they pick Uribe a fielding five, 35 year old 3rd basemen but with limited at bats. Lucas Sims a highly rated Brave
prospect comes next followed by a player I liked a lot in Tommy Medica. Overall a fine draft with a PIP of 3.17

A LOOK AT THE ROSTER
The starting pitching is not as strong as you would like going into the season but was improved in the draft.
13 relievers, yes 13 takes up some roster spots that could be put to better use but takes pressure off the starting staff.
The offense is lead by Cuddyer,Cruz and Dondaldson but it gets a bit thin after that. Bourn has seen better
days. As the oldest ball club in the league getting younger will need to be the focus of management in the future.
Light on starting pitching and offense it will be up to the luckiest dice roller in the league to keep things interesting.
THE DRAFT
John Lackey in the first certainly helps out but I would have liked Cashner in this slot. In the 2nd round the Scouts
pick Alfonso Soriano not bad but Kris Davis is my pick here. In the 3rd AZ Hochevar is picked followed by Masterson
in the 4th. I like the Masterson pick. Next came more starting help in La Rosa followed by AZ reliever Rodriquez.
In the 7th they take starting pitcher Jeff Locke followed by catcher Jose Labaton. Nate Mclouth gives some
outfield depth that lacks in defense. A fielding 9 SS in Florimon is next ,great glove but will he hit?  The next
three rounds see a starter and two B relief pitchers? I'm taking 3 younger players for the future with those last three picks.

Two old farts in the OF an OPS of 784 and thin in pitching will make it tough for Union Station and their fans. At 27 it's time for
Pedro Alvarez to take his game up a notch or two to stay in Cowboy land. There is some very good looking young
talent that will turn the corner for this franchise if they can hang on to it. Their penchant for wheeling and dealing is legendary.
With Bogarets, Yelsch and Zunino to build around it's time to keep this up and coming young talent in Union Station. And I'm sure
their fans agree. Of the one player on this roster that should have put out to greener pastures it is Mark Reynolds. With that being
said let's move onto their draft.

THE DRAFT
In the first round they picked the highly touted Tanaka and with Wacha and Cashner gone a very solid pick. In the second round they
had three picks. First came Gattis, with 3 catchers already on the roster and one being Mike Zunino I'm confused and I don't think
it's the bourbon. They followed Gattis with Oberholtzer and Polanco. Pencil Kris Davis or Avisail Garcia in for Gattis and that second
round would have been a killer! Roark in the third was a great pick followed by 2 more strong picks in Martin and Salazar. Next came
two A relievers in the 6th and 7th. They followed that up with another fine pick in the 8th Joey Gallo. Let's add a little icing to the cake
and pick a pitcher with 200 innings of CZ pitching in the 10th round Dillon Gee and you have one hell of a draft. Gattis go figure?
