ZSABL Annual League Meeting And Draft

 

 

Meeting called to order by commissioner Phil Zangari at 6:32 PM

 

Roll Call: Absent Chet Lutz (Rochester), Mick Walton (Virginia GM)

 

Commissioner Zangari updated list of released players and reviewed draft procedures.

 

 Secretary’s Report: 2006 Minutes accepted as written with no deletions or additions.

 

Treasurer’s Report: 2007 Balance of $15.28 (Before including 2007 dues and fines paid)

 

Committee Reports

 

            Playoff Pitching Rules: Chairman Bob Fisher gave report suggesting that any pitcher with less that 30 appearances or 100 innings pitched in the current season should be limited to 25% of total innings pitched for the playoffs.

Motion first and seconded. Unanimous vote! Rule to applied to the 2007 season.

 

New Business

 

Ed Kachnoskie moved that the free agent draft be held one week before the opening of the major league season. Discussion held and it was agreed (no official vote taken) to set a goal of completing the ZSABL World Series before March 15, 2008.

 

Commissioner Zangari announced that to aid a quick start for the season that a “wild cat” schedule is implemented for the 2007 season.

 

Bill Groff suggested that the team with the “Best Record In Baseball” should receive a plaque commemorating the achievement as opposed to a $25.00 prize. Motion was first and second, vote was 11 in favor 2 opposed. Rule will be implemented for the 2008 season.
